Understanding the Armor of God - Gospel of Peace
Gospel of Peace - Part 3
“having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace” (Ephesians 6:15).
Matthew 4:23 “Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.”
Mark 1:14 “ After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God.”
Romans 10:15 “ And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
Romans 3:17 “And the way of peace they do not know.”
1 John 2:6 “Whoever claims to live in Him must live as Jesus did.”
John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
When we truly allow ourselves to take comfort in the good news promised by God, there is nothing from outside ourselves that can trouble our hearts or give us reason to be afraid. Christ has overcome the world (John 16:33), and so we have nothing to fear from it.
Luke 10:19-20 “19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
When Satan attacks with a flaming missile of doubt, such as “If God really loved you, He wouldn’t have let this happen,” we dig our peace shoes into the turf of God’s Word and reply, “It is written: All things work together for the good to them who love God and are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).
From the cradle to the grave, life is war. Your soul, your mind, your body, your family, your career are fields of conflict. Until Satan is finally thrown into the lake of fire, our peace with God will have to be a vigilant peace. Because Satan will certainly give us no peace if we are at peace with God.
The gospel of peace is good news (Luke 2:10). God forgives and then He gives. What could be greater?
Paul was convinced that nothing could separate him from the love of Christ. He understood the love of Christ. He knew the good news and no bad news could ruin it. The time he had spent preparing himself in the Word was bearing fruit during time of trouble.
1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
Colossians 1:13 “For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves.”
He has put His spirit in you that you might work the works of GOD.
Romans 5:6-11 “6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through Him! 10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life! 11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.”
God intends us all to be walking vessels of His goodness. Spreading the love of Christ to others. As we familiarize ourselves with the gospel we shall discover a message worth living for. What is the gospel? Make sure you understand the message we are to take to the world.
Putting on the sandals is not just knowing what the gospel message is, but rather having a plan to share it with others.
The Bible is very clear. A person receives eternal life simply and only by believing in Jesus for it. Faith alone in Christ alone. That has always been and always will be the clear Gospel message.
Bring good news of peace to a world that needs to hear!
