Your Opponent

In Ephesians 6:12 it is written. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

The devil knows your weaknesses. He knows your need for love. To feel accepted, to be chosen, to be seen, to feel that you have worth. To feel like you matter.

He knows all the plans that God has for your life. And he also knows his own fate. 

He has one objective. “To steal, kill and destroy”. He knows that if he steals your identity, confuses you through idolatry, struggles and tribulations, he will slowly be able to kill you and destroy every good gift God has planned for you. He knows that if he blinds you, he can steal your inheritance. 

He crushes your heart. He breaks your spirit and always try to steal your dreams.

So how can you overcome him and fight him off?

Well, it’s a new day. Jesus has stepped in and placed you under New Management. He came so that we can “have life and have it abundantly”.

Jesus never promised that your life will be without trouble, pain or tribulation, but He promised to always be there for you. To walk with you. To walk you through whatever you might face.

Now we have to equip ourselves for the battle and pray for holy vindication. 

You need to be ready to receive seven fold what the enemy has stolen from you. You need to design a game plan. Someone once said that victory never comes by accident.

God’s Word equips us to know the truth. You need to educate yourself. Study the Bible. Clothe yourselves daily with the full armour of God.

Ephesians 6:14-18 - “Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;  above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.”

Our mind set, which is how you think and feel about things is very important. It can put stumbling blocks in your way that you need to overcome.

The battle field is the mind. If the enemy can plant that lie and make you believe it, he knows he has won. You feel unloved, unworthy, unforgiven.

It’s never too late for you to turn your life around. It’s never too late to start believing God’s Word. To believe His Promises. He meant them for you and for me. For all of us. We are His children and what He does for one, He does for all. He shows no favoritism. He is a fair, just and righteous God.

Ester 4:14 - “You were born for a time like this!”

Don’t believe the devil’s lies. Don’t listen to Him. Know your true worth in the eyes of your Heavenly Father. Ask God to protect you from the lies of the enemy.

2 Thessalonians 3:3 - “But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.”

James 4:7 - “Submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

1 John 4:4 - "You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world." 

1 Pet. 5:8-9 - "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith."

Zech. 4:6 - "Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the Lord of hosts." 

Luke 10:19 - “Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.”

John 8:32 - “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." 

Rev.12:11 - “And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.”

1 John 3:8 - “…the reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work.” 

Deut. 3:22 -“Do not fear them, for the Lord your God is the one fighting for you.”

Rom. 8:31 -“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?” 

Don’t allow the devil to destroy your life. Don’t allow the devil to steal your hope or kill your dreams. Take up the authority you have in Jesus Christ.

Don’t allow the enemy to steal your true identity.

Your life only begins, when you start living in God’s Presence and in His Promises and in His truth.

It’s a new life. A new way of thinking. Of feeling and being. It’s a new beginning with hope. You have new dreams which are better than the old ones.

Claim your identity back. Step up and take your rightful position in Christ.
